Wow! Ballerich's? I think I misspelled it too..lol I'm going home the week of the 17th of July...I'm going to get me some..lol You can buy them online...but it costs a small fortune! Lucky you to have them sooooo close. I am jealous. ;)
Yep I remember the 'forts' back at the tracks too. Although it was more the boys that built them when I was young. The thought of bums made it scary. ;) We used to pick up the lava type rock there. It always amazed me how light it was. The boys used to jump and ride the slow trains. I wanted to but was afraid I'd end up in Clyde with no way home! Gawd Mom would of grounded me for life! LOL
You mean East Side Park? Off of St. Joseph St. It still has a lot of trees but is a park now. I've always known it as a park. Yep there is hickory nuts there. A cannon? Hmm...now that I don't remember ever seeing. We used to ice skate down there...as soon as you enter the park to the right we would ice skate there on a frozen small pond...which narrowed down to a creek. Now at the back of that park now back by the rail road tracks there is a Community type thing there with a indoor pool and all kinda of inside and outside sports things. I've never been there. It was finished after I moved to NY. I don't remember yellow flowers there though..lol
Happy Easter!! Ewww shingles. :( I had those a long time ago right on my right hip...where your top of your pants come. It was fun....NOT. I feel for you. Bill's Mom got them not too long ago....in the unmentionable area!! I'm glad I had them where I did! lol I hope they disappear soon for you. I know how painful they can be. Tell everyone I'm hoping they have a good day today. I've got the ham in cooking now and taking a mini break. ;) That no knead bread goes in next in the oven. Mmm ;)
